Palace in Opypy | @palacczosnowskich | Poland The Palace in Opypy | @palacczosnowskich | Poland

The palace near Grodzisk Mazowiecki experienced two periods of flourishing in its history. The first was around 1900, when it was rebuilt in a 19th-century park for Maria Klementyna Colonna Czosnowska. The second came after many twists of fate, when it came under the ownership of the Fortalicja Czemierniki Foundation.

A thorough renovation in 2000, driven by the vision and ambition of a private investor and collaborating architects — from “Studio Projektowe i Wzorcownia – Narada,” Wiesław Michałek, and Dr. Arch. Katarzyna Jucha — allowed for the integration of a significant amount of artistic glass by Tomasz Urbanowicz.

Thick and raw glass castings serve as self-supporting balustrades, partitions, artworks, enormous bathroom doors (weighing 400 kg), and even a floor lit from below — allowing you to walk on it as if you were Jesus walking on water… ;-)

Compositions featuring Parisian views set the mood for the interior of the restaurant, designed by architect Magdalena Smyk from GGP Architekci.

Tomasz Urbanowicz studied the most iconic architectural motifs of Paris, resulting in watercolor designs that became the basis for deep relief glass pieces, colored in purple and burgundy with gold and silver oxides, featuring motifs such as Sacré-Cœur, Notre Dame, the Champs-Élysées, the Eiffel Tower, and more.

The artistic glass panels divide the space, adding intimacy to each of the distinct areas.

Electricity | Faculty of Electrical Engineering | Electricity | Faculty of Electrical Engineering | @politechnika_wroclawska

The glass design for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering building, constructed based on a design by architects Ewa Frankiewicz and Adam Winiarski, includes glass feature walls for the main lobby as well as an integrated glass composition within the furniture.

The green cast glass features original artistic interpretations of electricity—unique visions related to low and medium voltage currents, and… natural electric discharge – lightning.

The project was awarded in the Maciej Nowicki Prize competition "Color in Architecture" for innovative solutions in Polish architecture.

Architect Joanna Styrylska from @isba_grupa_projektowa, responsible for interior design of the lobby and chapel, wanted to ensure that the hospital would offer something for the soul as well – artistic glass compositions by Tomasz Urbanowicz.

In the monochromatic lobby interior, aligned with the entrance axis, Urbanowicz designed and created a large-scale colorful glass piece featuring a Wrocław motif – Ostrów Tumski reflected in water.

In the upstairs chapel, he installed a honey-colored glass composition in the only window, featuring a motif from Lower Silesia – a Penitential Cross.

In the very heart of the Zdrojowy Park in Polanica-Zdrój, on the site of the former boiler house, the "Sunny Thermal Baths Wielka Pieniawa" were created, based on a design by Versus Design Studio. The complex includes, among other things, swimming pools, jacuzzis, and a SPA center.

Tomasz Urbanowicz designed and created the artistic glass self-standing walls and artworks, which are his interpretation of mineral water flowing from deep within the earth.

Architectural glass art composition clearly refers to the flag of the European Union and the function of the building. Twelve golden stars adorn the installation. The number of suspended blue kiln-formed casts corresponds to the number of EU countries.

The artistic composition creates a functional balustrade which, through its message and visual values, decorates the architectural object, giving it a unique character.

Glass Waterfalls | Ultranet | Wrocław | Poland A Glass Waterfalls | Ultranet | Wrocław | Poland

At the rooftop of the Ultranet office building in Wrocław (designed by arch. Ireneusz Huryk), right at the edge of the façade, a swimming pool serves as the inspiration for a unique large-scale glass composition.

The artistic glass by Tomasz Urbanowicz creates the illusion of four waterfalls cascading from the pool down the building.

By using slumped tempered glass with a dynamic texture, the surface of the façade comes to life with light and reflections, enhancing the impression of flowing water.

This fusion of architecture and art gives the building a unique, organic character, seamlessly integrating it into its surroundings in a harmonious yet striking way.

The Imperial Post Office’s Spirit | Justin Cente The Imperial Post Office’s Spirit | Justin Center | Wrocław | Poland

The modern glass façade of the building designed by ARCH-E atelier is inspired by the nonexistent body of the Imperial Post Office Bldg from 1888, demolished here during WWII.

The façade marks the main entrance to the building and thanks to its transparency and the way it plays with the light it livens up the hall and street showing the author’s respect for history.
