Exhibition in Venice – The Venice Glass Week HUB by Generali

From 12 to 20 September 2026, ARCHIGLASS studio (Tomasz Urbanowicz and Dr. Konrad Urbanowicz) will present its work at “The Venice Glass Week HUB by Generali” in Palazzo Morosini (Campo Santo Stefano, San Marco district) in Venice. This historic palazzo, owned by Generali, will host installations by artists from around the world. Admission is free, and the exhibition will be open to the public daily from 10am to 6pm between 12 and 20 September.

The Venice Glass Week is an international festival founded in 2017 to celebrate, support and promote the art of glassmaking, for which the Lagoon City of Venice has been renowned around the world for over 1,000 years.

In Venice, ARCHIGLASS will present a glass sculpture that forms part of the “Anti-Soviet Partisans’ Memorial”, one of the studio’s recent public art projects realized in Wrocław. The monument is dedicated to Polish partisans active after World War II, often anonymous, imprisoned and erased from official memory. Nine life-size figures, cast in thick glass and set within glass cuboids, refract light, blur the image and symbolically recall the fate of the “cursed soldiers”, their confinement and the memory that has endured despite attempts to suppress it.

The work exhibited in Venice is an original scale model representing one of the nine figures. Thick cast, thermally formed and enamelled glass becomes a medium of memory, interacting with daylight and artificial light to create a living, shifting image that engages viewers’ imagination.

The “Anti-Soviet Partisans’ Memorial” was realized following a winning competition entry and commissioned by the City of Wrocław, Cultural Department and the “Remembrance and Future” Centre, History Centre Zajezdnia. The project was co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. It marks another stage in ARCHIGLASS’s long-standing work with monuments and glass installations in public space, recognised among others in the international CODAawards in the United States.

The Venice Glass Week is promoted and organised by Comune di Venezia, Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, LE STANZE DEL VETRO – Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.
