“Przewagą Tomasza Urbanowicza nad większością artystów zajmujących się szkłem jest to, że ukończył architekturę, studiując także witraż. Razem z żoną Beatą, która jest także dyplomowanym architektem, założyli własną pracownię szkła artystycznego do architektury.

W latach 90-tych rozwinęli własne techniki odlewania, stapiania oraz barwienia szkła. Ich prace mają w sobie coś z porowatości ziemi, co sprawia, że są charakterystyczne niepodobne do tych zwykle spotykanych szkieł o falistej formie.
Zaskakujące jest, jak ten śmiały wygląd dzieła sprawia, że analiza jego elementów jest tak niełatwym zadaniem.

Większość tych prac wygląda jakby ich struktura była wynikiem jakiegoś naturalnego, samorzutnego procesu. Czasami kolory, jak na przykład w projekcie browaru Holsten, sprawiają wrażenie bardziej przypadkowego rezultatu naturalnego procesu niż szczegółowo zaplanowanych schematów kolorów, współgrających z przestrzenią. Tomasz Urbanowicz jest architektem i artystą, twórcą wielkoformatowego szkła artystycznego w architekturze. Od ponad trzydziestu lat prowadzi autorską pracownię artystyczną ARCHIGLASS.

Jego unikatowe szklane kompozycje zdobią wiele prestiżowych budynków, takich jak m.in. Parlament Europejski w Strasburgu, Sąd Najwyższy w Warszawie czy Operę i Filharmonię Podlaską w Białymstoku.

Dzieła Tomasza Urbanowicza trzykrotnie reprezentowały Polskę na Wystawach Światowych EXPO – EXPO 2000 w Niemczech, EXPO 2005 w Japonii i EXPO 2008 w Hiszpanii.

Wyróżniony Absolwent Politechniki Wrocławskiej w 2016 roku. W roku 2021 nagrodzony jako 1 z „30 Kreatywnych Wrocławia” w kategorii Kultura/Sztuka/Dizajn.

Konrad Urbanowicz

Architekt | Designer

Konrad Urbanowicz jest architektem, doktorem na Wydziale Architektury Politechniki Wrocławskiej. Studiował na uczelniach technicznych w Polsce, Niemczech i Hiszpanii.

Od 2017 roku na stałe związany jest z pracownią ARCHIGLASS, gdzie współtworzy, projektuje i realizuje szklane kompozycje architektoniczne i unikatowe obiekty artystyczne. Łączy zainteresowania projektowe w różnych skalach, tworząc dzieła przestrzenne o określonej funkcji i  spójnym charakterze estetycznym.

Wyróżniony jako Najlepszy Absolwent Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Wrocławskiej w 2015 roku. W 2024 obronił rozprawę doktorską z wyróżnieniem na temat współczesnego szkła artystycznego w architekturze.
